Earlier in the trip the alligators quickly moved away from us. Since the Nightmare the alligators seemed indifferent to our presence. We would see no other boats and have the wilderness waterway to ourselves. Jim explained that you can easily gauge the length of the gator in feet by estimating the distance in inches from the tip of the nose to the eye.
