Jim and Doug both brought ultra-lite back packing stoves. I brought a camp stove that while three times as large as their devices, was always first to heat water for coffee. Well, actually I think Doug got up early one morning and had coffee water hot - before I rolled out of the sack.

In addition to the camp stove my fellow paddlers discovered I had a handcranked radio that allowed us to listen to the Superbowel, and to the President's State of the Union address.
